Welcome to Shamali.se!
We open the doors to a world of beauty, history, and passion for animals. The first Saluki 1973 ( Khalil?s Ceiba ) and 1980 ( the Q-litter ), Shamali has been an oasis for the noblest of houndbreeds: Salukis anchored in ancient Egyptian and Middle Eastern cultural history, Shamali have embarked on a journey spanning five decades, driven by the vision and expertise of the founder, Christer Edling and his wife Inger Sj?str?m.
Christer Edling, then based in the village S?var, north of Ume?, Sweden, nowerdays the village V?nn?s, west of Ume? has not only been a pioneering breeder but also a prominent inofficial judge and respected voice in European and international Saluki breeding. His dedication and knowledge has shaped generations of these noble animals and inspired an entire community of many enthusiasts worldwide.
But Shamali?s passion extends beyond breeding arenas. Shamali owners are enamored with cultural history and the mystical beauty of the ancient Egyptian and Middle Eastern heritage. At Shamali, you will find an extensive library filled with treasures of ancient Egyptian and Saluki literature and Newsletters a source of knowledge and inspiration for all who share our fascination with ancient civilizations.
Our love for ancient Egypt and Middle Eastern also shines through our involvement in cultural-historical events and initiatives. We believe in preserving and promoting cultural heritage for future generations and actively work to make it possible.
Whether you are an experienced Saluki breeder/owner, a passionate Arabian horse enthusiast, or a lover of Egyptian Mau, you are welcome to explore our world at Shamali.se. Our history reflects our love for these amazing creatures and the rich cultural heritage not only for the Saluki. We are proud to carry that heritage forward.
